Zwoisy Mears-Clarke is a choreographer of the encounter. Zwoisy uses the expanded potentiality of dance to confront forms of oppression such as neocolonialism, sexism and ableism to open encounters that might otherwise seem unreachable.
I am doing a residency at AUSLAND with the support of dramaturg and performer Louise Trueheart. We will be returning to non-visual dance. Non-visual dance is a dance form that I have been researching in collaboration with other artists since 2014 and where movement is witnessed primarily through touch — imagine a performance occuring in a pitch-black room.
